چکیده
Purpose: Spine fractures are a significant cause of long-term disability and socioeconomic burden. The incidence spine tends to increase with age, decreased bone density, fall risk. In this study, we evaluated thoracolumbar at tertiary hospital in Jordan regarding their frequency, etiology, patterns, treatment modalities. Methods: clinical radiological records 469 patients admitted the Royal Medical Services from July 2018 August 2022 were patients’ sex, mechanism injury, fracture level pattern, modalities. Results: mean age was 51.24±20.22 years, men represented 52.3%. Compression injuries accounted for 97.2% fractures, junction most common location. Falling ground half injuries. Associated neurological identified 3.8% more younger patients. Pathological found 12.4% prevalent among elderly women. Conclusions: Traffic accidents falling height causes than 40. However, 70% women caused by simple falls, reflecting high prevalence osteoporosis elderly. Therefore, traffic work safety measures, as well home measures elderly, should be recommended reduce risk fractures.

متن کاملTreatment of Thoracolumbar Fracture
The most common fractures of the spine are associated with the thoracolumbar junction. The goals of treatment of thoracolumbar fracture are leading to early mobilization and rehabilitation by restoring mechanical stability of fracture and inducing neurologic recovery, thereby enabling patients to return to the workplace. However, it is still debatable about the treatment methods. Neurologic inj...
متن کاملComplete fracture-dislocation of the thoracolumbar spine without neurological deficit
RATIONALE Traumatic fracture of the thoracolumbar junction (T10-L2) is the most common fracture of the spinal column. Due to the disruption of the entire vertebrae column, the fracture-dislocation of the thoracolumbar spine is almost invariably associated with neurological injury. A complete fracture-dislocation of the thoracolumbar spine without neurological deficit is a rare entity. PATIENT...
متن کاملGiant Chordoma of the Thoracolumbar Spine
Chordomas are rare tumors from primitive notochord. They are usually located at sacrococcygeal region when it affects the spine. We present a case of giant chordoma in the thoracolumbar spine in Peru. A 43-year-old woman came to the hospital in Huanuco due to back pain and sensorymotor alterations in the lower limbs. Imaging confirmed an unresectable tumor involving the spine. Two years later, ...
متن کاملCT patterns of facet fracture dislocations in the thoracolumbar region.
Thoracolumbar facets are not as commonly dislocated as are those of the cervical spine. It is, however, crucial to make an early and accurate diagnosis of thoracolumbar facet dislocation since the injury may be unstable and require reduction and internal fixation. This paper presents three major CT patterns of thoracolumbar facet fracture dislocation. The first represents anterior subluxation o...
